Valentines day is nearly here & as those romantics amongst us display heartfelt messages of adoration and affective, it's a very popular time to 'pop the question'. Depending on the person, you may receive a beautiful, carefully selected boxed card or a box of chocolates, premium Champagne & a week-end for two on a country spa break with a shopping spree. Last year we helped a lovely but nervous man to propose to his girlfriend. Once I started to ask a few questions about the impact he wanted to make..it was evident he really wanted a memorable & unique moment. He had never bought balloons before but his girlfriend's work collegue had had a balloon birthday bouquet delivered to their workplace & they talked about it for weeks. So we set to planning this very special and one-off moment for them both.
Needless to say after a few calls, we arrived in Birmingham's busy Edgbaston. We were just as excited and couldn't wait to hear how it all went. Only the next day, we had a warm and exciting email from the newly engaged couple.
"Melissa, I had no idea what Adam had cooked up with you and can only say he can never normally keep a secret! So well done on that part!! When reception paged me, I was suddenly aware, my department was very empty and quiet which is not the norm believe me!. As I walked around the corner I can only say I burst into tears at the sight of the huge balloon arches spelling 'MARRY ME', I didn't even spot Adam at first because he was holding a big balloon bouquet of red hearts!!!!! Thank you so much for making this so special & by the way I said 'YES' so we will be needing our wedding reception decorated please :-) "
